AFEX Commodities Exchange is a pan-African agritech company established in 2014 to transform agricultural markets by creating efficient, transparent, and inclusive systems. Headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria, AFEX operates as the country’s first private commodities exchange and has expanded its footprint to Kenya and Uganda. The company connects smallholder farmers with buyers and investors through digital platforms such as ComX, and supports commodity trading in crops like maize, soybeans, cocoa, and rice. With over 200 warehouses and a digitized Warehouse Receipt System (WRS), AFEX helps farmers store produce securely and access financing by using their commodities as collateral.

AFEX also provides market data, investment products, and structured financing solutions, having facilitated over $250 million into agricultural value chains and served more than 500,000 farmers. Its mission is to build efficient and scalable agricultural markets across Africa, with a goal to support 1 million farmers and unlock $1 billion in financing by 2025. Through strategic initiatives like Project Black Panther, AFEX aims to expand into eight more African countries, boosting regional trade, food security, and farmer livelihoods.
